Today I'd like all of you with dogs to take a few minutes and teach them algebra. A ridiculous request, isn't it?
But it's less ridiculous than you and I thinking we can fully understand the infinite goodness and love of God.
I've been meditating on Psalm 71 this week, and verse 15 says: "My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure" (NIV).
It reminds me of another passage--Ephesians 3:19 where Paul prays that the Ephesians will come to know God's love but admits God's love "can never be fully known." (GNT).
I doubt that a dog can learn higher math, but I'm completely sure we will never fully understand God's wonderful love. It's that big.
We use the word "awesome" too easily, but in this case, it fits.
LISTEN to this devotion below. If you can't get the audio on Internet Explorer, try another browser.
Subscribers need to click the link in the title and come to the Bible Love Notes site. Thanks.

Amen!
ReplyDeleteLove your analogy! A perfect fit.
ReplyDeleteGod is so good and I am realizing it more and more but not comprehending it!! The dog is so cute and makes the analogy stick.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your devotions and today's made me smile extra.
ReplyDeleteI love your analogy and I doubt that I can learn higher math either, lol! ;)
ReplyDeleteOur capacity for love is so small compared to God's. But I'm glad because that means that I can't outlove God!
Thanks so much for linking up to "Making Your Home Sing Monday!" today!
If you don't mind my asking, how did you add all those buttons in your sidebar like that and make them smaller. Was it hard? Have you done a tutorial on it? I just think it's nicer looking than all the buttons I have at the bottom of my post, lol!
ReplyDeleteThey are done with the Inlinkz tool. It costs about $12 a year to have up to 25 collections. I also use it for my subject archives pages. I actually have a tutorial here: http://biblelovenotes.blogspot.com/2012/07/fun-tool.html

If you have any more questions. I also was having trouble knowing how to handle the blog hop buttons, but I wanted them visible so others could visit the hops I linked up to. There are a few hop hosts that require they be in the post itself, and I often don't participate in those hops for lack of time. But I think having them on my sidebar is a good advertisement for the site, actually better than having them in the post itself.
Hope this helps.
Gail
What a great message!

I think you are 100% right about that!! Have a blessed Easter. Linda
ReplyDeletei hear music, but no message--what am i doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteThanks
I think you're talking about the audio tool?
DeleteIf so, some of my readers have trouble if they are using "Internet Explorer" as their browser, so you might try another browser.
But I'm not sure why you are hearing music. Could you possibly have another program running or be open to another blog that has music?
Hope this helps,
Gail
